Hey There, I'm Percy and I'm the Webmage for this humble site. I started this site with a passing interest in coding, and have been steadily working on it ever since. Outside of coding I enjoy playing videogames, drawing (mostly furries, Apollo cursed my hands to only draw anthros for as long as I live), and rock collecting/polishing. I am also trans (probably agender, though still questioning it) so this is a safe space for people of all identities. I'm socially shy and awkwards both online and in person, so dont be surprised if I take a while to respond to things, or if my messages come off a little strange, I'm trying my best.
I have a interest in the older internet, and what I really like about it is the freedom of expression it provided. Anybody was able to make and customize their own webpage, and put whatever they liked on it as well as form communities with eachother. It was a little archapelago, and I always felt myself longing for my own island. Sure, I could have gone on some sort of social media and made an account there, but then I would be expressing myself they way they allowed me to, and I would be stuck using the tools that they gave me. Thats not a lot of freedom, is it? So I was stuck. Until a handy site called neocities popped up. The most experience with coding that I had was using templates on toyhouse, that didn't stop me from diving in and taking a shot at creating my own corner of the internet and around October 2023 I created the site: Percyville. Percy, because that's my name and ville because this site is my village of characters and ideas. I grossly underestimated the work needed to make a site, however, and as a result this site is held together with ductape, and a whole lot of redundant code. But hey, it's here, and it's mine, flaws and all. And if you've somehow stumbled across this site, and don't have your own yet, I suggest you make one, be it on neocities or another platform. It takes a while to get the hang of, but there are tools out there to help, and a whole community on here to learn from, so you'll have everything you need to start. So, go make a website, and have fun expressing yourself with no limits!
