The Citizens

The Citizens is a classification of art I make using pen, and a lot of emotion. Most citizens are one-off characters or concepts, and many are based on creating and cramming as many critters into a space as possible. All of these drawings are made using different ballpoint BIC pens, and occasionally a black gel pen or highlighter. I began this series in my freshman year of high school when I was dealing with a lot of depression and loneliness. Because most of them were drawn in school, you can see my notes and homework underneath it. I'm a very organized person :,).

"Sinners and Saints" This one is unfinished. Ah well.

I made this piece at an open air concert for a beatles cover band. The band was really good, I think they were called "shout" or some other onomopia. I should use colors more often.

I saw a ghoul in an old fantasy coloring book, and its forever changed the way I draw spines.

Yet another banger of an art piece. As you can tell, I really like fractals in my work. Little trivia about this piece, the armor looking guy in the top left was based on Alphonese Elric from FMA, and the crying old guy with his ribs collapsing was me and my emotions at the time

Giant clown! This one might be my favorite, or at least top three, I love how I did his hair, his eyes, his body, I just think I did a fabulous job, and am not humble with how much I like this piece

"Bird-Brained" The red one at the bottom is getting dangerously close to my anthro art style...:')

If I remember correctly, I made this one when I was full of rage. But I'll be damned if it doesnt look gooood!

Deer? Horse? Tree-thing? I don't know. This one isn't my favorite.

"Homunculus", I dont really know what I was thinking with this one, but it isn't all that bad.

This is a friendly, well-behaving, good-natured dragon citizen. This was one of my earlier citizens, and I find it very comforting to look at, its just a sweet little dork.

I made this one when I was super depressed, and I hate it. Not because I was depressed when I made it, oh no no, but because it looks like shit. Why did I make cracks on the background? what are his limbs doing? I don't know. All I know is that this drawing is a disappointment.

Like the name suggests, he's a funky little man. I love him so much, he's one of the more playful citizens. But I think I was feeling rather in the dumps when I drew him, Ironic that he brings me such joy now.

The lunch note saga continues with this little bunny man, Gel pens were used for the stippling, and although its annoying and painful to keep making a bunch of little dots, it makes a pretty nice result.

Another lunch index card, but I like this one quite a bit more. I based him off of a plaugue doctor, and I think he turned out pretty nicely

Low quality piece done on a small index card during lunch. I don't like this one all that much.

"The Explorer". If there was any piece here that I would like to make into a 3D sculpture, it would be this one, I think he'd be made out of clay with a super shiny, bright, cartoony glaze job. and I'd stick him in my house somewhere.

"Fractal Eyes". I really like this one, they have so much personality, and they look pretty good dispite the fact I don't actually know how to draw people, also notice how I was trying to find the zeros of a polynomial underneath this piece, I really don't use my notebooks for their intended purpose.

A bunch of little guys! Also you can see an old percy design in the upper left, I used to be able to draw him with only one continous line, but hes changed quite a lot!

When working with pen drawings, I really like to he how much I can mess up the paper, here you can see its super wrinkled, it also ends up bleeding through the page.

This one is titled "The Tenement", because there are a lot of little dudes here, I really like this one, especially the guy shooting water out the top.

I like to make pen drawings called citizens, this was the first of these drawings. This was made around 2 years ago, I don't know the actual date, and I drew it in my precalc notebook, because lets be honest, precalc isn't that important.
